Quick verdict
Surfshark wins overall (9/10 vs 8.2/10)
Both offer unlimited simultaneous connections, so device count isn't a differentiator here. Surfshark outscores IPVanish on overall performance, speed, and streaming reliability. IPVanish's counterpoint is a clean audit record since 2022 and 2025 following its one past incident (2016, under previous ownership) — but Surfshark's Nord-Security-backed infrastructure and higher scores make it the stronger all-round pick for most users.
